William Dunseath Eaton was the first editor of the Chicago Herald. Eaton's wife passed away on a Clark streetcar after an afternoon performance of a play she and Eaton had written. Eaton recounts his wife's death and his encounters with her spirit via a medium in his book Spirit Life, or Do We Die?
